Visual Builder & Node Catalog

The Prembly Visual Workflow Builder allows teams to design, iterate, and deploy end-to-end verification and presence workflows without writing custom backend state machines.

The builder operates in two visual modes:

  • Basic Mode: A clean, sequential wizard interface designed for linear verification flows.
  • Advanced Mode: A full drag-and-drop canvas supporting conditional branching, parallel steps, loops, and fallback routing.

Complete Node Catalog

Prembly Workflows provides 13+ specialized node types categorized by their operational purpose:

Verification Nodes

Node NameNode KeyDescription
Identity VerificationidentityVerifies government-issued identifiers (e.g., BVN, NIN, Passport, Driver's License) against authoritative national databases.
Document & Biometric CheckdocumentInspects uploaded physical ID cards or passports for authenticity, extracts OCR text, and conducts 3D biometric liveness matching.
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)eddRuns in-depth background screening, corporate directorship lookups, and enhanced adverse media queries.
Identity ConfirmationconfirmationFetches registry records and presents them to the applicant to review and confirm their details before submission.

Presence & Attendance Nodes

Node NameNode KeyDescription
Biometric Face Check-inbiometricAuthenticates live staff presence against pre-enrolled facial vector embeddings.
Location VerificationlocationCollects GPS coordinates from the user's mobile or web browser and verifies they fall within an authorized geofenced perimeter.
QR Code ScannerqrScans physical access badges, visitor passes, or dynamic terminal QR codes.

Flow Control & Decisioning Nodes

Node NameNode KeyDescription
DecisiondecisionEvaluates previous node outcomes and branches the applicant down different downstream paths.
Go Backgo-backCreates controlled retry loops, sending rejected or unclear submissions back to earlier steps with tailored instructions.
Verify Peopleverify-peopleFans out sub-workflows for each company director and shareholder discovered during KYB checks.
Action Selectoraction-selectorPresents interactive choice buttons to the applicant during runtime to determine their desired flow.

Governance & Data Nodes

Node NameNode KeyDescription
Terms / NDA ChecktermsPresents legal contracts, non-disclosure agreements, or terms of service, capturing digital signatures and timestamps.
Endpoint Comparisonendpoint-comparisonCross-references specific data attributes between two separate API responses or database lookups.
Risk ScoringriskAggregates signals across all executed nodes and assigns an automated composite risk score.
Ongoing KYC RefreshkycEnrolls approved profiles into continuous background monitoring cycles.

Configuring Node Parameters

Clicking any node on the canvas opens its Configuration Panel:

1. Verification Thresholds

For biometric and document nodes, configure specific confidence thresholds:

  • Biometric Match Score: e.g., require at least 85% facial similarity (>= 85%).
  • Liveness Sensitivity: Choose between active (blinking, head turns) or passive liveness detection.

2. Country & Document Restrictions

Restrict allowable identification documents per region (e.g., Nigeria: BVN, NIN; Ghana: Ghana Card, Voter's Card; Kenya: National ID).

3. Background Execution

Toggle whether a node should execute in the background:

  • Interactive Steps: The applicant waits for immediate verification results before advancing.
  • Background Execution: The engine acknowledges receipt and immediately advances the applicant to the next step while heavy database lookups continue asynchronously.

Advanced Flow Logic & Branching

1. Decision Steps

The Decision node allows dynamic path routing based on:

  • Verification Result: Route on success, failure, rejection, or data mismatch.
  • Applicant Country: Direct applicants to jurisdiction-specific intake requirements.
  • Verification Channel: Split flows based on whether the user is on mobile, web, or kiosk.
  • Sanctions & Watchlist Hits: Route flagged individuals to enhanced due diligence or manual review while clear applicants continue autonomously.
  • Fallback Path: Guarantees that any unexpected or edge-case response maintains a deterministic path.

2. Go-Back Retry Loops

A common user experience pitfall is immediately failing an onboarding applicant when a photo is blurry. The Go-Back node provides an automated remedy:

  • Target Return Step: Specify which earlier node the applicant returns to.
  • Custom User Guidance: Display actionable feedback (e.g., "We couldn't read your ID number due to glare. Please retake the photo on a dark, flat surface").
  • Maximum Tries: Set an attempt limit (e.g., maximum 3 retries). If the applicant exceeds the limit, the flow routes to a terminal failure or manual compliance review.
